1960s Korean Vintage Wallpaper — Eunju (original / antique moss)

Eunju was discovered in a 1960s hanok in Hwado-myeon, Ganghwa Island. Its oval cartouche medallions — each containing a small potted plant silhouette, repeated on a diagonal diaper grid — follow the Western medallion floral layout used in European bedroom wallpapers from the 18th century onward. The Korean translation lies in the palette: a pale lavender that sits between the European pastel tradition and the Korean dancheong color spectrum, belonging fully to neither. GOSATE identifies Eunju as one of the last generation of this design lineage before the Korean wallpaper industry shifted entirely to synthetic vinyl materials in the mid-1970s. GOSATE’s reproduction is available in two colorways. Original digitally restores the pale lavender and warm ivory ground of the 1960s wallpaper as found. Antique Moss reinterprets the same pattern in a muted green palette — a contemporary colorway developed by GOSATE, designed to complement the original’s graphic structure in a different tonal register.   Roll size : 50cm by 10M Material : Non-woven paper Made in Sweden, Designed in Korea
