1910~20s Korean Vintage Wallpaper — Hyehwan (original)

Hyehwan was discovered layered beneath decades of wallpaper on a cabinet door in a 19th-century hanok on Yeongjong Island, Incheon — installed around the 1910s, as confirmed by the old documents found between its layers. The pattern’s diamond diaper grid and shield-shaped cartouches descend from Lyon brocade textile grammar, carried into Asia through Japanese export printing. The same design has been identified in Changdeokgung Palace and in Japanese wallpaper sample books found in West Bengal, India. GOSATE’s reproduction faithfully restores the original’s blue-grey palette and the fine dot texture that gives the surface its cloth-like quality, printed on premium non-woven base paper manufactured in Sweden.   Roll size : 50cm by 10M Material : Non-woven paper Made in Sweden, Designed in Korea
