1970s Korean Vintage Wallpaper — Eunjung (original / goldie oldie)
Eunjung was discovered in a 1960s hanok in Hwado-myeon, Ganghwa Island. Its structure begins with a dense field of tiny oval dots printed across a pulp-paper ground — a technique for simulating the tactile quality of fine woven cloth. Over this ground, a diagonal lattice of twisted vine and rococo ornament is laid, with laurel-wreath knots suspended at each intersection. Within each diamond of the lattice sits a cartouche — its outline swelling and curling in the manner of a Western coat-of-arms frame or salon mirror, filled with four-directional leaf scrolls. The overall effect is of lace stretched across a garden trellis: a pattern that made the aspiration toward a Western-style interior legible on a paper wall in 1970s Korea. GOSATE’s reproduction digitally restores the original pattern, printed on premium non-woven base paper manufactured in Sweden. Available in two colorways: Original and Goldie Oldie.
